The procedure depends on the extent of your condition. Tumescent liposuction requires local anesthesia before the procedure. The surgeon makes small incisions, around 6-8mm in the agreed locations and passes the cannula inside. By moving it around, the surgeon disrupts the fat issues to facilitate the extraction. The vacuum attached to the cannula accumulates the removed fat. The entire procedure takes 1.3 hours, and most patients return on the same day after a discussion with the doctor.

There is some degree of discomfort in terms of swelling and bruising. Soreness may continue for a few days, and patients will wear a compression garment to aid the healing. The recovery may depend on the extent of the procedure. However, in most cases, patients return to daily life within a week or two. Please follow the post-operative care guidelines issued by our doctors. The compression garment can be removed in consultation with the expert. It is advisable to use it for at least 2 to 4 weeks post-surgery to ensure healing takes place. The skin moulds around the treated area after the surgery. We ensure there is minimal scarring.
