Post-surgery, the face is bandaged to keep the treated area away from dirt. It is removed a day after the procedure. You can expect some amount of scarring. Facelift scars are hidden in the hairline, in the folds behind the ears or under the jawline to avoid detection. Every patient’s recovery process follows a different timeline. The standard stages of healing are: The first stage lasts about 10 days. The swelling increases up to the fourth day and then begins to disappear. From the 10th day to 14th, most patients find that the swelling and bruising have decreased to the point that social and work activities can be resumed. From 3 weeks to 6 months, healing continues until the final results are fully achieved. In most patients, 90% of the final result will be visible after 3 months.
