Treatments Surgical Breast Implants
Silicones are rubber-like, high-performance materials which have long lasting efficiency and durability. We use medical grade silicones which are tested by FDA and proven for their biocompatibility. So, the body tolerates them well and is resistant to aging, extreme temperatures and moisture. This makes them an ideal choice as breast implants. Breast implants are implanted under the breast tissue or chest muscle to augment the size of breast. This is done for cosmetic as well as reconstructive purposes such as to replace the breast tissue which has been surgically removed due to cancer or trauma.
Using an implant to rebuild the breast has an advantage over flap reconstruction procedure since it does not involve donor area. So the surgery is restricted only to the chest area. Breast implants have a silicone outer shell which is either filled with saline or silicone gel and comes in teardrop or round shapes. Saline implants are usually implanted empty and then filled with sterile saline water once they are in place. On the other hand, silicone implants are prefilled with silicone gel that closely mimics the feel of human fat. A newer type of silicone implant, called “gummy implant” is gaining popularity as it is firmer than regular implants and gives a more natural shape and feel. There is also lesser risk of rupture and scar tissue formation due to the texture of gummy implant.
The breast implantation procedure as well as additional surgeries in case of complications require intricate surgical skills which we assure at Sparha. With our experienced and trustworthy surgeons, we seek to provide you the youthful shape and realistic look which you have always desired for.
Your plastic Surgeon will suggest the right size of breast implant as per your height ,weight & body type . During the consultation the implant size and placement will be carefully chosen to fit each patient individually.
Most breasts will be “lifted” at least moderately with the placement of a breast implant.
It is recommended that patients begin walking immediately after surgery. However, women should not perform any intense physical exercise for six weeks following the operation. Physical exercise including weight lifting, biking, jogging, and other forms of intense activities may cause implants to shift position or cause wound healing problems that may alter the appearance of the breasts after surgery.
